Cases.gg Odds and House Edge Explained

Odds are the most important thing on any box site and the least read. Here's how the numbers on Cases.gg work.
Drop rates on boxes
Each box page lists its items and the chance of each. The prices of all items, weighted by their chances, give the box's expected value (EV). The gap between EV and price is the house edge for that box.
Example: a $10 box with EV of $9 has a 10% edge. On average you get $9 back per $10.
Reported edges per game
| Game | Reported edge | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Boxes | ~10% | Varies by box |
| Case battles | ~10% | Same boxes, shared pot |
| Upgrader | ~10% | Chance ≈ (1−edge)/multiplier |
| Crash | ~6.5% | Lowest reported |
These come from third-party reviews; we didn't find a single official edge table, so check the game info screens.
What expected value means for you
Over many plays, you'll lose about the edge. Over one session, anything can happen, which is the entertainment. Problems start when people treat short-term wins as a pattern.
Provably fair
Cases.gg uses provably fair mechanics (server seed hash shown before, revealed after, combined with your client seed and nonce). You can recompute each result. That guards against manipulation, not against the edge.
Practical takeaways
- Read drop rates before opening any box.
- Prefer flatter boxes for longer play.
- Lower-edge games lose more slowly; they don't win.
